Hello Kitty and Shinkansen – two of Japan's most impressive symbols have finally come together.
West Japan Railway Co. showed a bullet train with a decal of the world-famous fictional character to the media in Fukuoka Prefecture on Monday.
The walls, seats and curtains of Car 2, dubbed “The Kawaii! Room,” feature Hello Kitty and Friends. Passengers can also take photos in the booth decorated with the kitty motif in the Shinkansen uniform.
Car 1, named “Hello! Plaza,” will introduce the local attractions of western Japan, which is where the train will be operated.
Travelers can find the timetable of the special train on jr-hellokittyshinkansen.jp.
