Nigerian players selected for next month’s FIFA World Cup duty with the Super Eagles have started their training.
18 players reported to camp for the first session at the Uyo training camp, with 12 yet to report.
Among those in camp include Leicester City duo Ndidi Wilfred and Kelechi Iheanacho who ended their 2017/18 Premier League campaign on 13 May.
Among those who have’nt reported yet are captain Mikel John Obi and Odion Ighalo, who ply their trade in the Chinese Super League, with club Tianjin Teda and Changchun Yatai respectively.
Chelsea’s Victor Moses is also yet to report, having just played for the Londoners on Sunday.
Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr unveiled his provisional 30-man squad for the World Cup. A final 23-man list is expected to be published on 4 June.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on 14 June, though Nigeria will play their first game on 16 June.
The West Africans are pooled in Group D alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
