The Japanese video game console and publishing company has already sold about 18 million switches and hopes to sell even more.

Nintendo: We will sell 20 million Switch consoles this 2018

The Switch console has represented a significant return for Nintendo after the fiasco of the Wii U console, and the company says it will have even more to celebrate.

By March 31, some 17.79 million units of the console were sold, according to the most recent financial results of the Japanese company. Nintendo forecasts that it will sell 20 million additional units this fiscal year.

In comparison, the Nintendo console prior to the switch, the Wii U , has only sold 13.5 million units in all its existence , with sales of 102 million video games. The Nintendo console that has had the most sales was the Wii with 100 million units.

A key reason for the future success of the Switch will be the newly revealed Smash Bros videogame . The financial report also noted that a Pokémon game, announced at the E3 video game fair last year, will be released "in 2018 or later." The fact that they mentioned 2018 is important because two other video games ( Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 ) still do not have an announced release date.

Nintendo also said that President Tatsumi Kimishima is retiring on June 28. Kimishima became president of the company after the death of Satoru Iwata in 2015. He will be replaced by Shuntaro Furukawa.
Twice a year, Microsoft releases feature updates for Windows 10. Here are the updates of the April 2018 Update (formerly known as Spring Creators).

The update Windows 10 April 2018: everything you need to know

The latest update from Microsoft to Windows 10 is here, and the first big news is the name change: what was known as Windows 10 Spring Creators Update has now been named Windows Update April 10, 2018. (Yes, it is true.) That may sound boring, but at least it tells you what version you are running to solve problems. Now, the version is included directly in the name.

Thanks to the extensive Windows Insider beta program of the company, many people have known the news for more than a month. You may be-or not-eager to update yourself; that depends on where your weak points are.

For example, Windows 10 now offers a more granular flexibility, similar to that of a mobile device in its do not disturb mode (called Focus Assist, a modified version of Quiet Hours) and the implementation of the Timeline device-handoff feature announced Year during Build, which aims to replace the virtual desktop manager. There are also some notable changes in the configuration, which include privacy and security, notifications, password recovery and defaults.

The update begins to be implemented on Monday, April 30. A limited number of users will receive the update that day; everyone else will see that the update will be available the following week. If you have automatic updates enabled, you will be notified when the update is available to you.
The application arrives late, although it will be available to users of all recent versions of the operating system.
iTunes arrives at the Microsoft Store for all Windows users

iTunes , the musical service par excellence of Apple , has finally reached Windows 10 , through an application specially designed for the operating system .

According to the source, the arrival of iTunes to Windows 10 was announced by Microsoft in early 2017 during its Build conference. Then it was expected that the app would land before the end of the year, but Apple would have taken a little longer to get the application to work properly.

The interest of Microsoft was in particular so that the users of devices Windows 10 S - the version of the operating system that only allowed the use of apps of the official store - could have access to iTunes. These teams are mostly cheap computers but with good specifications designed for students.

However, Windows 10 S can now be converted to Windows 10, so the iTunes app within the Microsoft Store simply becomes an official alternative for new users of the Microsoft operating system.

The game, available for iOS and Android, will first arrive in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, then to America and Europe.

Nintendo to launch Dragalia Lost, a new mobile game summer

Dragalia Lost will be Nintendo's first mobile game this year.

The company announced that the new title will arrive in the summer of this year, disembarking first in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Later this year, Dragalia Lost will hit America and Europe, according to a Nintendo ad cited by Reuters .

Dragalia Lost is the first result of the new relationship between Nintendo and Cygames, a Japanese video game development company in which Nintendo now has 5 percent, according to Reuters. The price of this investment was not disclosed.

This new game with Japanese dyes will be the new attempt of Nintendo to achieve success in mobile platforms, a success that has not achieved even with its large franchises.

The Japanese firm has already launched Super Mario Run , Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing , three games based on existing franchises in the big consoles, but it has not been possible to replicate in iOS and Android while games like Fortnite or Pokémon Go are the kings of the mobiles.

In addition to Dragalia Lost , Nintendo has already confirmed the launch of Mario Kart Tour for mobiles. Mario Kart Tour is based on another successful and recognized Nintendo franchise; the game will be free-to-play, which means that it can be downloaded for free but with purchases within the app.

The social network will stop charging a fee for collections on the platform and announces a tool for organizations to equalize contributions.

Facebook launches new tools for fundraising

Facebook announced on Friday new functions for organizations and people who raise funds for various purposes through the social network.

Mark Zuckerberg's company said it will no longer charge a fee for fundraising for projects or personal causes, and that foundations now have a new tool so they can match contributions.

Facebook says that the role of matching contributions comes because many users who create a fundraiser on Facebook, usually say that if they reach an amount, they will donate the same amount from their pockets.

Now, Facebook facilitates this by adding the option to match a donation of between US $ 5 and US $ 2,500. This feature is active only for users in the United States.

Facebook also said it will stop charging a fee on every fundraiser created by individuals, not nonprofits. Facebook says that this is to help projects such as donations for an operation of relatives, the payment of funeral services or help to buy school supplies, be easier.

"We are inspired by the various ways in which people come together to support each other," says the social network in the statement. "We know that people care about the organizations and the causes and goals they pursue."

Facebook said it will continue to charge a small fee for processing the payment and paying taxes.
A cheaper iPhone that has Face ID would have to say goodbye to several functions.
7 ways in which Apple could reduce the iPhone price of 2018
A 6.1-inch iPhone with Face ID for only US $ 550. That is a very welcome rumor after 2017 became the year in which we met the iPhone X of US $ 1,000 . But, to achieve a "medium price" phone with a modern look, Face ID and a screen that goes from side to side, Apple would have to sacrifice many of the first class features of the iPhone X.

7 ways in which Apple could reduce the iPhone price of 2018

This theory suggests that Apple will update the current iPhone 8 , 8 Plus and iPhone X with three new phones later this year. These three new phones will have Face ID .

Two of these phones will follow the iPhone X. The successor of 5.8 inches and the new 6.5-inch model will retain the OLED screen. The giant screen model will cost more, not less, that's for sure.

The third model supposedly would have a much lower price. And, strangely enough, it would have a larger screen than the current iPhone: it would measure 6.1 inches, according to rumors, instead of the 5.8 inches of the iPhone X and the 5.5 inches of the iPhone 8 Plus.

7 ways in which Apple could reduce the iPhone price of 2018

So, if this rumor comes true - and I have my doubts - what would be the functions that would say goodbye?

How would an iPhone 'bargain' with Face ID

Apple could offer a cheaper and modern-looking iPhone, following the road paved by the iPhone SE, the iPhone 8 and the iPad of 2018. In other words, reduce the first class functions. In that sense, this is the way Apple could reduce the iPhone price of 2018.

Display : Opt for LCD technology instead of OLED.
Camera : A rear camera instead of two, like the iPhone 8.
Front camera: Keep the first generation TrueDepth camera system in place of the TrueDepth 2 that is expected by 2018.
Interface : It could leave 3D Touch or other functions that give better color response to the iPhone of 2017 (as True Tone screen).
Reduce RAM : For example, the iPhone X and 8 Plus have 3GB, while the iPhone 8 has only 2GB.
Keep the A11 CPU : That is, not update to the A12 chip that we assume Apple will integrate in the iPhone of 2018.
Eliminate wireless charging : Although this means you sell fewer AirPower wireless recharge pads when Apple finally releases them to the market.

But does not Apple and iPhones have 'economic'?

There are already iPhones that you can buy with less money, but they are not new nor do they have Face ID technology.

The true economic model of Apple, the iPhone SE, now sells for US $ 349 (32GB) and US $ 449 (128GB). Launched in 2016, and that in 2017 gained an increase in storage capacity, the iPhone SE is essentially an iPhone 6S in the body of an iPhone 5S. The iPhone SE is a good example of how a cheaper iPhone can be successfully achieved.

The now called and rumored iPhone SE 2 , which would very likely be the existing model with a newer chip (and maybe even wireless charging), would not be expected to hit the market until September. But it is rumored that it can be presented at any time from now until the start of WWDC on June 4.

There are also older iPhone models with discounts. The iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6 Plus have up to $ 100 off.

There is also the iPhone 5C, the company's first experiment for an affordable iPhone. But Apple has never updated this model.

Why does Apple need an iPhone with a cheaper Face ID?

It's simple: The iPhone X has been sold, but it has reached its peak.

The $ 1,000 phone boomed the world of cell phones when Apple became the first major phone maker to surpass that price barrier. The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook said that "iPhone X has exceeded our expectations and has been our best selling iPhone every week since it began shipping in November."

A recent report from Counterpoint Research estimates that the iPhone X was responsible for the 35th account of global phone earnings in the fourth quarter of 2017. However, there are also signs that demand has slowed down in recent months.

We will have more details of the relative success of iPhone sales on May 1, when Apple announces its financial results. But, undoubtedly, it sounds like Apple wants an iPhone with the most updated look at a price close to that of the iPhone 8.

Could an iPhone with Face ID cost only US $ 550?

Honestly, we think not. Consider the latest disappointment suffered by those who expected a discount on an Apple product. A rumor indicated that the "cheap iPad for schools" was going to cost US $ 260. But when the iPad of 2018 was finally presented, it had the same price as the model of last year: US $ 329 (although the educational sector enjoys a discount of US $ 30).

This situation could be repeated with the new "cheaper iPhone". If this will be the successor of the iPhone 9, then, there is no reason why Apple has to lower the price of US $ 700.

Even so, an iPhone of US $ 700 would give those who covet an iPhone X a phone with a look and functions very similar to the iPhone X but with a large discount of US $ 300. Apple, on the other hand, would make a good profit by making some or all of the sacrifices we listed in the first section of this article.

Meanwhile, Apple fans willing to pay for the best of the best could still buy the iPhone X Plus (or whatever it's called) that would cost more than $ 1,300 and come with the latest double-camera, TrueDepth 2 Face ID and other premium features .

For Apple, reducing the functions of a phone to make it more affordable would be a winning action.

Already in 2024, there will be no need for translators, and in 45 years, robots will perform all the tasks that people perform today - according to a report by universities in Oxford and Yale. Such rapid progress means that the fight for the position of Poland in robotic reality should start now - experts say Personnel Service. And indicate which countries will be in a privileged position.

When will robots replace people? Faster than you think

In just ten years our children will function in a completely different reality than the one we know. And that means that we must take care of their future now. The race with time begins for the place of our country in the world, which, as we already know, is very robotic. Artificial intelligence will balance the costs of the economy and will promote more developed countries that have access to cheaper energy, such as Germany or France. If we do not try to catch up with these countries, we will simply be left behind - says Krzysztof Inglot, President of Personnel Service.

As he notes, the large-scale use of artificial intelligence will have serious social consequences . According to estimates from 325 scientists from around the world who expressed their opinion in a report published by Oxford and Yale, robots in 45 years will perform all tasks that people perform today. "Artificial intelligence will be able to arrange any set of LEGO bricks, in 2026 it will write an essay, and a year later it will replace truck drivers. At the end of the century, artificial intelligence will be able to independently design, program and modify new robots, "the Personnel Service experts report.

In their opinion, the race for a high position in the robotic world will be won by those countries that can boast of a rich scientific background . Countries investing in research, development of technologies related to artificial intelligence and promoting these specializations in college will have an advantage. Experts point out that it is also important to gradually change the learning system that should promote creative thinking and in a world dominated by artificial intelligence, developing a critical approach should form the basis of education , because in creative ideas, robots will not be able to replace people for a long time.

- Many countries are already aware of what revolution awaits us. It's time for our country to start intensive preparation. All this so that we would not be left behind this race - says Krzysztof Inglot. - At this point, the economy of our country is developing very well . This should be used to focus our attention on important issues from the point of view of our place in the robotic world - he adds.

Born in 1906, Grace Murray Hopper, how few people contributed to the development of computer technology. For many years she served in the army and created the foundations for one of the historically most important programming languages: COBOL. It is believed that it was the first to use the term "bug" in the IT context and that it is largely due to the popularization of the profession of programmer

Grace Hopper: The mother of all programmers

She was born in New York at the beginning of the 20th century and as a young woman she obtained a master's degree in mathematics at Yale University, to obtain a doctorate a few years later. At that time, not many women could boast of such a scientific title. Hopper was one of the few female doctors of mathematics in the USA.

She professionally taught mathematics in college during the Second World War - until she was appointed in 1943 to the reserve US Navy ranks. Having obtained the rank of lieutenant a year later, she began working for the army at the Harvard University. It was about programming the computer of Mark I. Considering her academic education, she was an ideal person for the armed forces.

The first bug in history

In the post-war years - as a reserve officer - she continued to work at the university, developing technologies related to computers Mark II and Mark III. Anecdote says that once the moth flew inside the equipment and caused a short circuit; from this event Hopper popularized the term "computer bug" (bug from English is a worm), which refers to the failure of a computer program.

In 1949, she started working for the private sector - first at Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation and then at Remington Rand, where in 1952 Hopper and her team created the first ever computer compiler that became a precursor to the COBOL programming language ( common business oriented language). Soon after, COBOL would turn out to be one of the most-used languages in the world of computer science, and although today some experts consider it outdated, they still use it.

Hopper believed that programming languages should be as intuitive as possible and resemble the language we use on a daily basis. This is exactly what COBOL is, which is characterized primarily by the use of very literal, descriptive commands.

Career until late

The pioneering work of Hopper was not forgotten by the army - the woman was restored to active service in 1966, at the age of 60, to help develop common standards for various programming languages. She retired at age 79 as the oldest officer in the American military ranks. However, she said that without working, she would "be bored to death", so she remained in the IT industry for the next few years. In 1991, as the first woman in history, she received the National Medal of Technology. She died a year later, at the age of 85.

She was remembered not only as an outstanding scientist and woman who greatly contributed to the development of computer technology, but also as a man who strongly encouraged young people to learn programming. Its heritage is continued through the cyclical conference The Grace Hopper Celebration in Computing, which aims to activate women in the profession of programmer.

South Africa's Caster Semenya

South Africa’s ruling party, African National Congress (ANC), has called new regulations issued by athletics’ governing body IAAF a “blatant racist attempt” against South Africa’s Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya.

The new measures, which come into effect in November, state that female athletes with naturally high testosterone levels will have to race against men or change events unless they take medication.

“These laws target amongst others Caster Semenya who has been over the past decade constantly put under undue pressure” the ANC wrote in a statement.

The International Association of Athletics Federations new guidelines would apply to women who race in track events from 400m up to the mile.

The South African runner has previously been asked to undertake gender testing by athletics chiefs but no results have ever officially been made public.

The 27-year-old’s powerful physique and deep voice, followed by the revelations of her hyperandrogenism, left some rivals complaining that they faced an impossible and unfair challenge.

The IAAF’s previous attempts to regulate the issue fell foul of a Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling in 2015 following an appeal on behalf of Indian athlete Dutee Chand, who had been banned from competing because of her testosterone levels.

“The revised rules are not about cheating – they are about levelling the playing field to ensure fair and meaningful competition,” IAAF president Lord Coe said.

“We want athletes to be incentivised to make the huge commitment and sacrifice required to excel in the sport.”

The ANC has implored South Africa’s government to intervene on Semenya’s behalf.

“These new regulations infringe on the Human Rights of athletes, targeting mainly those in East Europe, Asia and the African continent,” the party wrote. “The racial undertones of this cannot go unnoticed.”

Media in the UK and South Africa on Wednesday published sections of the report ahead of its official release, revealing that the new hyperandrogenism regulations would include a separate female classification to be known as an Athlete with Differences of Sexual Development or DSD.

“The result is these new regulations, which seek to facilitate the participation in the sport of athletes with DSDs on terms that preserve fair and meaningful competition in the female classification.”

The IAAF’s medical advisors have suggested the advantage held by DSD athletes is far less pronounced in short sprints or longer distance endurance races, leaving the door open for Semenya to move up to 5,000 or 10,000 metres if she desires.

Ms. Semenya has been embroiled in a global debate about gender and athletics since winning the 800 meter gold medal at the 2009 World Championships.

She had previously been asked to undertake gender testing by athletics chiefs but the results have never been made public.
